Lab Express - Blood Tests Done Anywhere
How is Lab Express a better choice than regular blood tests?
We understand the hassle patients go through when they need to have blood drawn for lab tests, especially the long waiting time. Instead of waiting for your turn and to avoid long waits for the test results, we offer you a better alternative, in the comfort of your home or office to save you precious times for other things.
Why are blood tests and health assessments important?
Some diseases are not recognised physically and need stages of screenings to identify the root of health problem. Before a patient undergoes any operation or surgery for any health matters, the first step of the procedure is by having blood drawn. The specimens taken for the blood test will undergo a further evaluation that will then identify what the patient needs.
What are the types of tests available?
We provide various types of blood tests, doctor-ordered tests, urine test, health screening packages and health monitoring. Find out more about our tests here.
Do we need privacy during the blood draw?
We do not conduct blood draws in public places. Blood is drawn on a sturdy table or desk in your home or at your office so that our representative can do their work properly. Don’t worry, though, your Lab Express phlebotomists will bring everything required to conduct your test.
Can I choose to stay anonymous for my tests?
Yes, you can. We understand that some clients might want to stay anonymous while having lab tests done. Firstly, you can choose to stay anonymous by booking a test using an alternative / short name.
What does it mean to "stay anonymous"?
"Staying anonymous" means that your real name will not appear on your test results (based on your request). However, the alternative / short name that you chose will still be written on the report. This is to protect your privacy especially for sensitive situations.
If I choose to stay anonymous and provide an alternative name, can my report be submitted to hospitals for analysis?
Unfortunately, no. If the name on your report is not your real name (according to your IC/passport), you will be required to undergo another test carried out by the hospital.
How do you assure the quality of the service?
We send out our best phlebotomists, nurses or other health care professionals to your home or office or anywhere that is convenient for you to get your blood tests based on your preferred time of the day. We partner up with leading laboratories to ensure the best results.
Are your phlebotomists trained?
Yes, our phlebotomists are either highly trained nurses or paramedics and have gone through many hours of training in order to draw blood properly. In addition, they attend our training courses where we test their skills and upgrade their qualifications and certify them to serve you.
Who does the actual testing once the blood sample is drawn?
Our blood tests are conducted by well-known, top quality laboratories in Malaysia. In fact, these are the very same labs your doctors, hospitals or clinics recommend. These include Gribbles, Quantum, Pathlab, Clinipath and others. These labs perform regular quality assurance testing and are the same labs that many physicians use to perform their testing. The only difference is that we come to you! You have nothing to worry about whatsoever!
Who interprets my results?
Lab Express is a service that brings convenience to getting lab tests by drawing blood or urine in the comfort of your home or office. Therefore, we do not assess your results or make any medical recommendations. You and/or your doctor will receive your results and decide on the best course of action, if any, based on the results. If you would like one of Lab Express’ doctors to discuss your results and make basic recommendations, we do offer that as well. An additional fee is required.
How do I schedule for an appointment?
Appointments can be done by booking your preferable date and time through our online platform.
How long would it take for the blood test to be done?
A basic blood test would require about half an hour period and it will be delivered to the lab. After 2 to 3 days, most results will be available online but others could take longer. Reminder: do not eat anything for 8 hours prior to your test.
What days and hours are your phlebotomists available?
We conduct tests from Tuesdays through Sundays from 6am until 2pm (the last test is scheduled at 2pm). We recommend early morning so you can have your blood drawn, eat breakfast and start your day. Gentle reminder, please do not eat 8 hours prior to your test.
What if I need to reschedule?
Kindly call us or reschedule through your online account at least 2 hours prior to your scheduled appointment so we can reschedule. If you do reschedule it likely will not be until the next day or even two days later, depending on availability. And remember, you need to fast 8 hours before your appointment. Therefore, please do your best to keep your appointment.
How can I check / reschedule / cancel my bookings?
You can either call us at 011-1174 0903 or create an online account. There, under "My Bookings", you are able to check / reschedule / cancel your bookings. If you have to reschedule, please do it at least 2 hours prior to your scheduled appointment.
How can I be sure that my booking has been made?
Once you have made a booking, a confirmation email will be sent to your inbox. If you have an online account, you can log in to check your bookings under the "Upcoming" tab within the "My Bookings" page.
Costs & Payment
Do I have to make full payment before having a blood draw representative comes to my place?
Full payment has to be made before we can start arranging our team according to your blood test or health screening schedule. Fees include:
Payment for the lab test, ranging from RM56 and above depending on the test(s) or package(s) required. See tests and fees here.
The transportation fee (coming to your home or office) ranging from RM50 to RM100. See our coverage area and transportation charges here.
